Retreat for a Botanist
The objective of this studio was to build a retreat for
a botanist in an island in Socotra Island. The concept
was to have a long bar shaped building that utlizes the ocean to its maximum potential. Hence, the procession towards the retreat itself is a clear view of the ocean with the building submergerd into the ground so it does not act as an obstruction. Additionally, the retreat has a staircase that leads straight to the beach. The windows of the retreat are focused on the most important elements of the site like the Desert Rose groove, Pomagrante tree and the Dragon Blood tree.
