Maritime Museum with Shreya Shrivastava
The main objective of this studio was to build a Maritime
Museum in Al Jadaf, on the Dubai creek. We aimed at having
a project that has a merged
water parking and is also materially
contrasted on its facades.
The dhow under construction was the most important aspect of the site as it gave the users an
experience of a real life construction of a
dhow. The Museum
has big open spaces for the boats to be exhibited in with amplelight for users to engage with the building. The horizon can be seen from the back
of the building and it was used to create a
backdrop for small model dhows that were exhibited.
