Foundational Study to understand GenZ merchants (Merchant Center)

After working on a few GloYo (Global Youth) usability tests and understanding their shopping behaviour, I was tasked with running a diary study to look at how the GenZ population manage their business as entreprenuars.
Goal: To understand how GenZ merchants run their small business.

Research Questions: What online tools do they use to build their platforms? Where do they sell? How do they manage inventory? What are their frustrations?

Tools: Diary study using Dscout (online platform for diary studies)

Insights:
GenZ are multi-platform sellers and find it difficult to run the rules of experience of each platform. They wish there was a way to integrate multiple platforms likee Etsy, Ebay, Amazon etc.

GenZ like to focus on being creative, authentic and transparent. They use social media to connect with their customers and show them the process of making.

Since this was research was fairly new at Google, Sally and I did numerous lightning talks (short presentations) to many teams across Google. We shared the insights company wide and were invited to talk about the importance of designing with the Next Billion Users (NBU) in mind.

Literature reviews
Collating multiple studies done over the past year and analyzing them in detail to come up with themes and patterns that will establish future research for the team.
